Commercial HVAC Installation
Whether you are constructing a new building or it’s just time to replace your old system, One Call Service is here to answer your questions and help you choose the best possible heating and cooling system for your business. HVAC systems for offices can include traditional air conditioning, furnace or heat pump, air duct system, and control systems as well as more custom pieces like humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and special filtration systems.
Different businesses will have different HVAC needs. For instance, a small business with 5 employees may only need a basic air conditioning unit and heater, while an industrial warehouse may require a special filtration system to keep the air quality high and employees safe.
No matter what you’re looking for in an HVAC system, One Call Service will install it properly and ensure that it runs efficiently for as long as possible. Proper installation is essential to your HVAC system’s efficiency, efficacy, and overall lifespan.
Your HVAC system is made up of several large pieces of equipment and a complex system of ducts and electric work–all of which have to be taken into consideration during installation, along with the manufacturer brand, size of the space and equipment, and your budget.
How Much Does It Cost to Install HVAC?
The cost of installing a new HVAC system can vary widely depending on the circumstances. Brand, grade, size, complexity, ductwork, and customization can all affect the total cost of your HVAC installation.
The more specialty equipment you need to meet regulations and OSHA compliance, the more expensive the project will be. But the costs will be more than made up for in comfort, employee satisfaction, and reduced liability.

Grade
Most HVAC brands make different lines of each version of their equipment called “grades.” These grades are, essentially, the “basic”, “average”, “better”, and “best” versions of each piece of equipment.
Just like when you’re buying a car, premium features and customizations–leather seats, moon roof, 4-wheel drive–all add to the price. For HVAC systems, customizations make certain functions easier and more efficient, and different grades may vary in size, weight, capacity, and performance.
Generally speaking, the higher the grade of the unit, the higher the performance of your system. We usually recommend that our commercial customers go with the highest grade they can afford to lower their costs in the long run.
The average ranges look something like this:
Furnaces
40,000 BTU to 140,000 BTU
Split system air conditioners & heat pumps
18,000 BTU (1.5 tons) to 180,000 BTU (15 tons)
Mini split air conditioners & heat pumps
12,000 BTU to 42,000 BTU
BTU stands for “British Thermal Unit” and is a measurement of energy. The higher the BTU, the higher the capacity. As you can see, there is a very wide range of capacity for any and all situations. If you have a very small building or office and very few employees, you’ll likely be able to use a unit with a lower capacity.
Higher capacity units work harder and more efficiently, making them perfect for large spaces and businesses concerned about energy efficiency. Lower capacity units are cheaper, but if you choose one too small for your building, it will struggle to keep up and break down more rapidly, costing you more money in repairs and, eventually, replacement.
Job Complexity
Job complexity plays an enormous role in the overall cost of your commercial HVAC installation. The more difficult the job, the longer it takes to finish. For example, installing a new AC unit in a ground-level outbuilding will cost significantly less than installing the same unit in a tiny crawlspace.
Similarly, the larger your HVAC system as a whole, the more it will cost to install it. For instance, having one unit installed will obviously cost less than replacing your entire system.
How Long Does Commercial HVAC Installation Take?
The exact length of time your HVAC installation takes will depend on how big the job is. Installing one piece of equipment in a ready-made space may take only a few hours. Installing a full system, including ductwork, could take a day or two depending on the size of your building and how many customizations you’ve added to the system.
No matter the complexity of the job, One Call Service is dedicated to getting you back to a comfortable temperature–and back to work!–as soon as possible.
We always strive for a 24-hour turnaround when possible. If it’s not possible, we’ll work with your schedule to ensure that the project is completed ASAP.
